BCM outside of the UK- The BIG picture
BCM Ireland
BCM UK works closely with BCM Ireland and Richard Thompson, a BCM worker in Ireland, sits on the trustees of BCM UK as well as being coordinator for the work of BCM in Western Europe. BCM’s work in the Republic of Ireland began in 1965. Today, they have four full-time workers - Brian & Brenda Duffield, Debbie Dancey and Richard Thompson – but the main stay of BCM Ireland’s work is through a great team of volunteers. Their ministry includes running regular children and youth clubs as well as residential camps for children aged 8 to 17. There are currently three children’s camps in the summer and one in the winter but they hope to increase these over the next couple of years. BCM Ireland have developed a youth camp ministry with the aim of growing our next generation of leadership. One of their workers pastors a church and they provide a venue for churches to get away for times of refreshment, fellowship and encouragement at Castledaly Manor, our own Camp/Conference centre. |
